Signature threads in Workiro allow you to digitally and compliantly sign documents yourself, or request signatures from others. Automatic reminders ensure they're not missed, and there is no requirement for signatory's to create an account.
Workiro eSignatures are Advanced Electronic Signatures (AES) with Handwritten E Signatures capabilities, depending on which method the signatory chooses to use: either sign your own or have Workiro draw one for you.

How to electronically sign a document in Workiro
Creating a signature thread
When creating a new thread, you'll find the option to create a signature request.
First, add everyone who needs to be involved, this can include the people responsible for signing the document as well as any others that require visibility.
Add a title and extra information as required, and attach any documents (pdf) that you want to be signed.
Supporting documents/files can also be attached to the thread for reference.

Preparing the PDF for signing
To configure the document for signing select the Prepare... button. The menu also gives you options to prepare or remove the pdf.
The document is opened and you can choose between Quick or Advanced signing
1) Quick signing
This option allows a signer to 'agree' to the contents of your document with one click.
Select which participants must sign the document, Save & close the configuration screen, then finish creating your thread.
Remember: The participants should be added to the thread before you prepare your document.
2) Advanced signing
The advanced signing option should be used if you require a wet/drawn signature or extra information (text/date) on your document.
Positioning fields on the document
Simply drag & drop (or click and move) signature or other fields from the left hand menu to the appropriate locations within the document.
You can select, move, delete and adjust the size of each field as needed.
Assigning fields to participants
Once the fields are positioned, make sure to assign each one to the participant that needs to complete it. Select the field, click the current assignee (usually 'Me), then select a name from the participant list.
Remember: The participants should be added to the thread before you prepare your document.
Renaming text fields
Text fields are very flexible as they they can be renamed to ensure the signer provides the exact information you require, for example 'Full Name'. To rename the field click the black rename button.
Send the documents for signature
Having configured your document for signing Save & close it. Participants who are required to sign will be displayed next to the document.
Now the document has been prepared for signature, click to 'Create' the signature thread.
You will be able to tell when the signature thread has been seen and Workiro send automatic reminders if no action is taken within a few days.
Tracking signing progress
Workiro keeps track of who has signed the document and when, so you can clearly see who you may still be waiting on - just click on the participants listed on a signature thread.
A signature task will remain on your Assigned to me list until all parties have successfully signed the document and completed, so that it's not forgotten.
You will be notified once the document has been signed so you can check it before marking the signature thread as complete.
The signed document is stored securely in Workiro and any participants can access and refer to the signed document or download and save it elsewhere if needed at any point.
The signed document will also be stored against the Connection's record, so you can create new threads with them if needed and share with others.
Signing a document
Signing a document doesn't require a Workiro account. You will receive a branded email notification with a secure link to the signature thread containing the documents to sign.
If you have a Workiro account the thread will also appear in your Catch-Up and Assigned to me lists.
Signing a document in Workiro is quick and easy. All participants can post comments allowing them to ask questions and discuss any changes that may be required before signing.
Signing on desktop
Upon opening the signature thread click the button to Read & sign... the document.
Quick signing
Signing the document is a couple of clicks away, having read the document, in the left hand panel tick the Agree & sign option, then the Save & finish button.
Advanced signing
Click the elements in the left hand panel to navigate to the corresponding fields in the document. Click on a field to complete it.
Signature fields prompt for a 'written' signature, which can either be drawn, an image uploaded, or typed.
Text fields can be typed into directly.
Once all signing requirements have been fulfilled, click Save and finish to complete the signing process.
The signed document
When the document has been signed the certificate will be appended to the signed document.
The signed version of the document will be attached to the signature thread for reference.
Errors creating signature threads
Workiro does not support the following document types for electronic signature
- Password-protected PDF documents
- PDF documents containing macros
