05 Adding Files to Wórkiro (Video)

Next - 06 Saving Office Files to Wórkiro

This article explains how to add files to a connection in Wórkiro. The same process applies across Wórkiro whether you drag and drop files or upload them from your device or an online repository.

Uploading Files

There are two ways to add a file to a connection:

  • Drag and drop one or more files from your computer directly into the connection view.
  • Click the Upload button within the connection to open the New Document window, or click the plus icon in the top-right corner and select Documents.

From the plus icon you can upload files from your device or from supported online repositories including Google Drive, Dropbox, and OneDrive.

Note: if you upload multiple files at once, all files in that batch will share the same categorisation and metadata. Upload individually if files need to be categorised differently.

Configuring the Document

Once the New Document window is open, complete the following:

  1. Review the Name field. This defaults to the original file name but can be edited to be more descriptive.
  2. Check the Date field. This defaults to today's date. Click Adjust Date if you need to backdate the document to keep files in chronological order.
  3. Review the Relates To section. The document will automatically be related to the connection you are filing from. If that connection is linked to another record (for example, an organisation), the document will also appear there without duplication.
  4. Apply any required tags. If your configuration enforces tags, at least one must be selected before proceeding.
  5. Complete any additional required fields such as Year, Month, or other metadata configured for your setup.
  6. Click Create to save the document.

The document will now be accessible from all related records.
