A Private Thread View (PTV) link is used by people without a Wórkiro account to access a thread that's been shared with them. These links expire after 48 hours or 5 uses, whichever happens first. This article explains why a Private Thread View link expires and how the recipient can get a new one.
Why the Link Expires
A Private Thread View link becomes invalid once it reaches 48 hours old or has been used 5 times, whichever happens first.
"Uses" are not limited to the recipient clicking the link themselves. Automated URL defence software (for example, corporate email security tools scanning incoming emails) also counts as a use. This means a link can reach its 5 use limit even if the recipient has never clicked it personally.
Regardless of use count, every Private Thread View link expires after 48 hours in all cases.
How to Fix an Expired Private Thread View Link
To resolve an expired Private Thread View link, the recipient should:
- Click the expired link anyway.
- On the page that appears, select the option to request a new link.
- Check their email for the new link and use that one instead.
A fresh link is sent straight to the recipient's email address. No further action is needed from the Wórkiro side.
