How to duplicate a document in Wórkiro

Whilst the beauty of Wórkiro is that the same document can be referenced from multiple places in the app sometimes it's inevitable that making a copy is a better option.

A few of the benefits.

  • Reusable starting points - A well-crafted document essentially becomes a template. Duplicate, tweak, done.
  • Consistency without rework - An original often already has the right tags, connections, or project relationships. Duplicating the document preserves that context instead of forcing users to redo it manually.
  • Variations for different clients - Take the same base document, different recipient. Duplicate, adjust, and the classification structure is already in place.
  • Safe experimentation - Make a copy before significant edits, keeping the original intact

Before duplication, the workflow was download the document, re-upload it, then manually re-tag, relate to connections, or relate to projects. That's clearly tedious and error-prone. Duplication removes the friction.

Common use cases

Duplicating documents is especially helpful in these scenarios:

  • Annual or periodic reports: Create copies of financial statements, reports, or templates for new fiscal years
  • Client templates: Reuse standard documents like contracts, proposals, or forms for different clients
  • Project documentation: Duplicate project plans or workflows for similar projects
  • Version control: Create working copies of important documents while preserving the original

You'll find duplicate a document sitting on the document menu exactly where you would expect.
